Erene Burk - Owner and Studio Director
Erene has owned and directed her private studios since 1985. She began her dance training in Sweden, where she trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Character, Spanish Dance, Creative Movement and Modern. She toured Sweden with other dancers and a Live Brass Band. She has taken Master classes from Dans Hogskolan Stockholm, Dansforum Gothenburg, Fransouis Jourbet Arizona and from Janet Muse Gray Utah. She directed a group of dancers to perform at the Dance Festival for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She continues to take Master classes whenever time allows. Her goal is to provide the best personal training for her students, in the art forms that her studio offers, and to provide a dance environment that reaches for excellence.
Amy Vidmar - Ballet Head and Artistic Director
Miss Amy is experienced in teaching Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Creative classes. She has been teaching with Excel Dance Studios for over 10 years. She is a Weber State Alumni where she graduated in English and also studied Injury Prevention and the health benefits of dance. The most important thing for a dancer to learn in her classroom is self-esteem and a can-do attitude. Miss Amy is the head of the ballet department and loves seeing her talented dancers grow and flourish as they excel through the ballet program.
Trisha Wasuita - Ballet Teacher
Trisha has taught ballet for 23 years to children and youth, ages 2 - 18. She has been dancing since age 4. She started a ballet major at the U of U, but eventually switched majors to pursue a teaching degree in Education. She joined our team here at Excel in 2020 and we are very excited. She is a wonderful teacher, and our students love her.
Alicia Ambrose - Ballet Teacher
Alicia began dancing ballet at age 5. The majority of her training took place with Academy of Ballet in Utah County. After graduating from high school, she went to major in Dance with ballet Emphasis at Brigham Young University and graduated with her Bachelors in April 2009. During her time at BYU, she performed and choreographed for Ballet Showcase Company. After receiving her Bachelor degree, Alicia went to teach at Children’s Dance Visions and Academy Ballet, serving as the Assistant Company Director for Ballet Utah II. She has choreographed many classical and contemporary works on many students, including a spoof on the I-15 core project that took place in Utah County on the I-15 corridor. Beyond performing many different ballets with Academy Ballet and Brigham Young University, she also spent a summer dancing for Legacy Dance Theater. Alicia loves all genres of dance and met her husband through Big Band Swing Dancing.
Angelina Hansen - Ballet Teacher
Angelina has loved dancing all her life. She took ballet from various studios in Oklahoma, Nevada, and Utah starting at about age 7. Angelina studied at Utah Valley University emphasizing ballet and ballroom. She has taught a variety of ages and skills at different studios in Kansas and Utah.
Alisha Quass - Tumbling Director
Alisha began her gymnastics career in Alberta, Canada at the age of 8. At the age of 11, competing for Big Sky Gymnastics under the direction of Hal Halvorson, she was the Class 4, all-around state champion in Montana. She competed for a couple more years in Washington at the club level for SOGA. As a freshman, she was the top scoring all-around gymnast for Pasco High School.
Due to a family move, she changed course and pursued cheerleading through high school. She was the cheer captain for Hermiston High School my senior year. She cheered for Ricks College her freshman year and was cheer captain her sophomore year. Second semester of her sophomore year, she met her husband when he became my stunt partner.
From the time she was a high school sophomore, she has coached gymnastics, cheer and tumbling; judged gymnastic competitions and cheer tryouts and coached individual students preparing to try out for cheer squads. Her focus is on technique, flexibility and strength. Doing skills properly takes more time and slows down the progression to bigger skills, but we want tumblers to be safe and to look good when they perform.
She has been coaching at Excel for just over 8 years now. She enjoys the non-competitive, technique-driven program at the studio.
Brynlee Quass - Tumbling Teacher
Tumbling Teacher/Assistant- Brynlee has 8 Years of Tumbling. 5 Years of Dance. 3 years of Tumbling Training. 2 Years of Coaching tumbling. She is very good with children and teaches her class with confidence and skill. We appreciate her.
Erika Roberts - Tumbling Teacher
Erika started dancing at the age of 3. At the age of 7, she started at the Ballet West conservatory or Ballet School, and was there until age 13. She then started trying out different kinds of dance, like Jazz, hip hop, and tumbling. During her Sophomore year, she tried out for Cheerleading and made the Varsity squad. They took State 3 years and West Coast title once and National Title another year. She later got married and was busy being a wife and mother. She was excited to have a chance to work at Excel Dance Studios for 5 years and returned again the last 3 years. She loves teaching and working with kids.
Crystal Dagdagan - Tumbling Teacher
Crystal is passionate about helping kids learn what she loves most…Gymnastics, Dance, and Cheer! She has a strong background in Tumbling, Gymnastics, Acrobatics and Dance.
Have been involved with it her whole life! From a very early age, she performed on television and traveled across the State and Nation performing and competing in meets and competitions.
She is the daughter of American Dream Acrobatics & Gymnastics Association founder Patty Wells (also a member of USSAF & IFSA) who is still renowned for the teaching techniques she developed in this sport.
She has been personally coached by elite coaches from USA Gymnastics World: Mike Dennison a National and World Champion Coach in Artistic Gymnastics, Trampoline & Tumbling; and Igor Ashkenazi a four year National Champion, as well as a World Champion with the United States Sports Acrobatics Federation (USSAF) & International Federation of Sports Acrobactics (IFSA) the World Federation.
She has coaching experience in my family’s gym as well as in my sister’s gymnastics and dance studio. She is excited to be a part of Excel Dance as a tumbling coach and look forward to assisting students with their goals and so much more!
Robin Nelson - Dance/Tumbling Teacher
Robin started dancing when she was three. She came to Excel Dance Studios when she was seven and has been here ever since! She has danced ballet and tumbling classes for ten years, and Jazz for two. She has been teaching and assisting Tumbling at Excel for 3 years. Robin is a hardworking, fun and talented teacher.
Emily Mitchell - Dance Teacher
Emily has been dancing for more than 20 years. She attended Adkins Dance Center in Santa Maria California as well as Lompoc School of Dance. During her time at Theater School of Dance in Bossier City, LA, she took part in the RAD Exams. After moving to Utah she started to learn from Excel Dance Studio and graduated in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop in 2015.
She is currently studying Interior Design at Weber State University.
Madison Stephenson - Dance Teacher
Madison trained professionally in hip hop and contemporary with Millennium Dance Complex in Salt Lake City and LA. She trained in ballet with Anaheim Ballet, California and Ballet West. She assisted a Jazz class at Ballet West in 2017. She trained with Disney Land, and BYU Utah as well. She became a Children's Fitness Instructor last September and is currently training as an aerialist.
Annette Holman - Office/Receptionist
Annette welcomes our students and families when they first step through the door to Excel Dance Studios. Her expertise in Office management and as a Receptionist makes our customers feel welcomed, informed and relaxed. Students and parents love to chat with her and appreciate a bandaid or two along with hair ties and a smile. We all appreciate Annette and she is a very important part of our team.
AnnMaree Montgomery - Costume Coordinator
AnnMaree aids the teachers in finding the perfect costume for each class. She takes care of any alterations that are necessary, steams costumes and makes sure they are exactly how they should be at the annual Recital.
Her talent and countless hours makes our students look fabulous!! She helps the students' dreams come true.
