December 2023 Ballet Newsletter

A Message from the Ballet Teachers to YOU!

Need to make sure you have all your Ballet Department Information up to Date?

If your answer is “Yes!”,  you can request a copy of printed past newsletters or send an email to the office.  Please send requests for a copy of the PDF sent via email to:  info@exceldancestudios.com.

In the November Newsletter, you will be able to access all previous newsletters as well as learn important information about Winter Showcase and studio policies.  Please make sure to catch up if you have not read them before.

Winter Showcase Reminders

See the October and November Newsletters for full details about the dress code for this performance, but dancers should be especially diligent about the following:

  • Assigned color of leotard
  • Canvas ballet stretch flats in classic pink
  • New (or at least unstained) ballet tights in classic pink
  • Naturally colored hair in a bun where assigned by the teacher.  If the teacher has not assigned a height for the bun, please place the bun on the crown of your dancer’s head.

Dancers may not be tardy to perform.  They must be present for role-taking before 9:00.  Parents will not be invited into the room during this warm-up time.  Dancers are required to stay for the entirety of both performances.

Seating will begin at 9:15 for the 9:30 show.  Please remain in the lobby until dancers are warm for you to take your seats.  Please be courteous to others while finding seats and only remove yourself between numbers.  Our performance should last no longer than about 30 minutes, including transitions.

If you believe you should have received tickets for a show and have not yet, please reach out to the office as soon as possible.  You will not receive your tickets if your account is overdue.  Please arrive with your party all at once.  Everyone in attendance must enter with a ticket.  Late seating may not be possible immediately–seating will only be permitted between numbers.  Please be on time to ensure you get to enjoy the entire show.

Please keep your dancer’s coat and street shoes as they enter the building.  Dancers without multiple numbers will not be allowed “backstage” again after they perform.  Dancers will be asked to sit with their parents after their last number.  Please do not leave early due to audience etiquette as well as to ensure your dancer gets to experience watching a performance.

Don’t forget, if you have more questions, please check out our October and November Newsletter or reach out to your dancer’s teacher via text message.

It has been an absolute delight to have you in class this year. As dancers, you have incredible focus and attentiveness to beauty. As people, I appreciate your sweetness and gentleness. Kindness shines from the four of you! Thank you also for your dedication to the smallest of details in preparing your variation; It has created unity and an expressiveness that is artful to see. As I’ve said before, you dance like lilies float on the water, and the audience will be awed. Happy holidays! With love, Ms. Nichole

Dancers!  I love teaching this class so much because of your enthusiasm and love for dance.  Any time you receive a correction, you apply it.  Any time you see another dancer succeeding, you applaud it.
